30% gray 100% toxic fumes

still trying to draw the girls as much as i can, but i fell out of it because i'm tired of being stressed about having them look decent. i realize that it's all a learning process and 99% of it will look weird before it even begins to look right. there's that little demon of pessimism (sp?) that tells me that i should've had this shit down while i was in school. too bad they kept me behind a computer and out of the life drawing studio class. thanks a-holes.

anyways, let's begin with the best known comic cliché - girls and guns. yay! now that i'm attempting to re-orient myself i discovered in the whole "guns and girls" process that i can only draw one kind of gun (below). i'm going to buy an issue of guns&ammo first thing tomorrow to remedy that problem.

speaking of clichés, dogs playing poker. only these with my dogs. well, 2 out of 3.
i was helping the in-laws move some furniture. so i caught a ride and was able to draw (just barely) along the way. for the next two i couldn't bust out my gray marker because of the fumes. i'll probably finish them later tonight.

i love the heads in jars on futurama.. a great excuse to have 20th-21st century celebrities to make an appearance, but this is george washington. so i missed by a couple hundred years.

and then there's abe lincoln. closer, but still no. i actually did lincoln first, then i did washington and the poker dogs during my trip to hampton.

..uummm and that's my story.

I'm into Mahfood. Can you tell?

Remember when I said I was going to "try" to draw more of the female form? I finally got around to it this week. Don't ask me what spurred my motivation. Maybe it was the issues of Varla and Barracuda staring at me since September.

So let me know what you think. Be brutal. I can take it.

My girl warned me about posting pics of her on the interweb. ;p

Classic pinup I drew during lunch today. Took me about 45 minutes. I really wanted to take a nap, but I ended up pissing my lunch hour away on this. No complaints though.

Roller derby is coming back in a big way here in Richmond. I think I can watch girls kick each others' asses in skirts and skates. I drew this one in a meeting at work.

..and one lone skater dude for the road. This one wasn't getting any better looking until the very end. It came out nice I think.
